Our Fees

Affordable mental health care

We aim to provide affordable mental health care for people like you. Our fees differ depending on the therapy provided, e.g., individual, couples, or sex therapy. Your therapist will discuss your individual needs and fees with you prior to your first session.

You can choose to access Open Mind services as a private client or via the Australian Government’s Better Access Initiative (BAI). The difference is that our private clients pay all session costs, while eligible BAI clients receive a Medicare rebate (e.g., $92.90 for the 2023-24 financial year). You will need a current mental health care plan (MHCP) and referral from your general practitioner (GP) to get access the Medicare rebate.

We believe that everyone should have access to affordable mental health care. So, if you experience financial hardship or have a concession card (e.g., Health Care Card, DVA Gold Card, etc.) please let us know so we can work with you to find an affordable solution.

All fees are payable at the end of each session. We prefer direct deposits, but also accept EFTPOS, cash, cheque.

Note: The APS recommended fee is $300 per 45-60 minute session and Medicare recommend 50 minute sessions.

Private Health Insurance

Some health insurance plans offer rebates for psychological treatments. Check with your insurer to see whether you qualify. Please note you cannot claim rebates from Medicare and your Private Health Fund for the same session.

Don't compare yourself with other people; compare yourself with who you were yesterday.
